The Wits Business School and Wits School of Governance, along with the Maarif Center for Turkish Studies, take great pleasure in inviting you to a panel discussion on Türkiye -South African economic relations and business diplomacy.
In the more than 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, South Africa has become Türkiye’s leading trade partner in sub-Saharan Africa. The value of Türkiye investments in South Africa is more than US$ 600 million, the majority of which is in mining and textiles. Trade volume between the two countries in 2023 was US$ 1,339 billion.
Our panel will explore the benefits of continued diplomatic and trade relations between South Africa and Türkiye, and report on progress made in multilateral political and economic negotiations.
